Who runs this
This application portal is run by Nicobar's technology team, for its own hiring. It is used only to assess applications to the roles listed on this site.
How you sign in
You sign in with GitHub, or with your email address and a one-time sign-in link. There is no password. If you use GitHub, we receive your name, username, verified email address and public profile, and nothing else.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to sign you in and contact you about your application.
- Profile answers you give us. We do not ask for your phone number or your salary at this stage.
- Your resume, as markdown.
- Your agent rules file — the CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or similar you already use in your own work. You may remove secrets or confidential details before sharing it.
- Your answer about a production system you have owned, in your own words.
- A link to your 2-minute video (Google Drive or Loom).
- The session log of the application conversation. It is required to apply, and you decide what it contains (see below).
- Activity metadata: which application steps you completed and when. This is a record of progress, not the content of your conversation. We do not keep the conversation beyond the session log you upload.
Your agent and its AI provider
The coding agent you use, and the AI provider behind it, are your choice. You pay for their usage. We do not reimburse those costs.
You control the session log
The session log is yours to review. Before you upload it:
- Check it covers only this application session.
- Review it and remove anything you do not want us to see.
- Do not include secrets, passwords or tokens, customer data, or confidential information from any employer, current or past.
How we use your information
We use your information for hiring for the role you apply to, and for nothing else.
AI-assisted review
We may use AI tools, including Anthropic's Claude, to summarise and assess submissions. That assessment is advisory. A person on the hiring team makes every decision. We will get back to you either way.
Who can see it
Only Nicobar's hiring team can see your application.
Where it is stored
The portal is hosted on Vercel. Your data is kept in a database and in private file storage, both provided through Vercel's services.
How long we keep it
Your answers and files stay in your application until you delete them. You are in control of that: you can delete your whole application yourself, at any time, from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it also withdraws your application.
You can see everything we hold about you on the same page. To change an answer, ask your agent to update it.
Your agent token
The token you receive when you connect your agent acts on your behalf. Keep it private. If it is exposed, reissue it from the /connect page.
